Selling Your Home?
April is National Lawn Care Month. In honor of that, let’s look at the value of curb appeal. The National Association of Landscape Professionals is unveiling research which finds that Americans still consider yards / lawns and important feature when buying (or renting) a home. If your home is on the market, but not getting much traffic, try out these tips.
Sometimes the simplest things can help make your home more attractive to buyers. Have you heard of curb appeal? It’s the concept of making your home and surroundings look more attractive when viewed from the street. Your yard plays a major factor in curb appeal.
Ready for Your Close-Up?
Preparing to sell your home means getting everything in order. Inside and out.
Ninety-four percent of Realtors suggest putting effort into your home’s yard citing how important it is to potential buyers. A study published in the Journal of Property Research confirms their finding. In 2018, the NALP released a Remodeling Impact report. In it, Realtors noted the number one project that appeals to buyers as standard lawn care service. This came in just above landscape maintenance and overall landscape upgrade. These items were also noted to likely have added value to the home for resale.
The easiest and most effective way to help sell your home is to improve your yard. It’s time to break out the lawn mower and edger and get to work. If you don’t have a green thumb, or simply aren’t physically able, it’s fairly inexpensive to hire someone to handle those tasks for you each week. This may also be ideal for those selling a vacant home.
Remember, though, your efforts will be wasted if your yard isn’t properly watered. If you have an irrigation system, be sure to have it serviced before your home is listed for sale. At Sentry Irrigation, we have trained technicians ready to restore your sprinkler system to tip-top shape. Watering in the proper amounts is key for your grassy areas as well as your plants and shrubs. Providing your lawn with a deep watering every few days is ideal.
An irrigation system is also noted as adding curb appeal and value to homes at time of resale.
